Gilt-edged because the binding fabric has some metallic gold on it. The floral fabric I started with included a few blue flowers, spaced out and without any other blues in the print. They stood out like spots and, I thought, needed to be dealt with in some way. I chose in this quilt to repeat those light blues in some big rectangular pieces. The blues now seem to float above the other fabrics. An odd drapery fabric sample forms the focus of the back.
