In the golden light of four o'clock on a summer afternoon, the colors of a herd of cows waiting by the barn stopped me in my tracks. Leaping from the car, I ran around photographing groups of cows, and later combined several images into this quilt.

To work with the fabrics I had on hand, I took some liberties with the Jersey colors, which would probably not be approved of by the farmer...
