Presently in the Ship Museum, Oslo, Norway, this ship was built about 817 A.D. It was interred in a burial mound thought to be that of Queen Asa. A river pleasure barge, the ship has a magnificent spiral stem and stern reminiscent of a fern fiddlehead. I love this very dynamic composition, which makes use of 2 different views of the ship plus details of the stem and stern. The placement of the darks and lights are just right.
