A society of ostriches inspired by a photograph my sister Marilyn took while hiking on New Zealand's South Island. Groups of people, groups of animals or birds, groups of flowers or leaves are a continuing theme in my quilts. The interplay between the shapes and implied dialog between the birds always intrigue me, maybe related to the interplay between repeated blocks in a traditional pieced Amreican geometric quilt.
